2006 Ford GT Headlines East Coast Classic Car Auction
It’s not every day one gets the opportunity to bid on a vehicle such as this one! The East Coast Classic Car Auction announced today that along with 150 other classic and exotic vehicles, a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition will be auctioned in the September 17th auction.
All 2006 Ford GTs were made as an homage to the Le Mans winning cars of 1966,1967,1968, and 1969. This GT Heritage Edition is 1 of 343 made as a tribute to the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans winning car driven by the JW Automotive Engineering team. Painted in the iconic and highly desirable Gulf-Oil inspired livery of orange and blue, each car was provided with a decal kit for the new owner’s personalization. Underneath the classic look comes modern performance. Power is provided by a 5.4L V8 that sends 550 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. Ebony leather upholstered seats with carbon fiber structure, Brembo brakes, and BBS lightweight aluminum wheels complete the race car feel.
This one owner vehicle will be rolling through Richmond Auto Auction’s lanes in mint condition, with only 444 miles on the odometer. This vehicle was titled for the first time in August 2021 and comes with original window sticker, copy of its Certificate of Origin, warranty, and other original paperwork.
A similar vehicle with higher milage recently sold at auction for $605,000. “We are thrilled to feature this 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition at the East Coast Classic Car Auction,” said Wyatt Carter, General Manager at Richmond Auto Auction. “This is truly one of the most spectacular vehicles we’ve offered, and we are excited about the national exposure we are receiving because of it. People are registering to bid from all over the world.”
The East Coast Classic Car Auction is part of Richmond Auto Auction’s 31st year anniversary celebration, and will be held on Friday, September 17 at 12 PM at 3600 Deepwater Terminal Road, Richmond, VA. Buyers are invited to bid live or online. View the run list, register to bid and learn more at richmondaa.com.
